I am going to be doing a lot of overhauls with the mirrors network this summer, beginning this coming week, in fact. It's a holiday here in the United States tomorrow, so it will likely start on Tuesday, which will (finally!) include setting up the distributed rsync setup that was originally planned for launch in April. We had worked out several issues and potential pitfalls that we thankfully discovered and discussed prior to launch, and I believe we'll be ready to roll out the initial "alpha" period by mid-July. As for your offer of an additional Italian mirror, I will look over the list. Logically, and I know you understand as well, if another suitable candidate applied to the waiting list prior to your offer, we would go with them in fairness. However, failing that, your application will undoubtedly be accepted, as you're one of the very active, reliable folks who really makes my tasks far easier.
