"/log" command in chat window

I am looking for some information and some advice. I am a Final Year student in Computing Security and Digital Forensics doing my dissertation and its an investigation into chat artefacts in MMO's, in particular WOW I am trying to see if chat history can be recovered. I am aware that there is a command through the interface "/log" that will copy chat history etc to a file. Do you know or can point me in the right direction as to how this command works and language etc.... I know what the command does but the how is more important. I hope someone on here can help [http://forums.tentonhammer.com/images/smilies/smile.gif] Thanks
