Tony- We should keep track of each other. I'm working on some audio related packages myself. I've already introduced http://pear.php.net/oggvorbis (playback and encoding) and have a functioning linux_oss extension (though I won't be adding it to PECL or maintaining it). I'm currently working on OpenAL bindings to have a cross platform audio library which will work under linux/windows/bsd/solaris/whatever...
