Hello PECL word, I've implemented bindings to the Aiksaurus thesaurus library. The Aiksaurus project is hosted at http://aiksaurus.sourceforge.net/ and is distributed under the GPL. It provides a simple interface to phonetically similar words and synonyms that can be grouped in families (as introduced in the caiksaurus.cpp in the src distribution).
AFAIK that means the extension should be GPLed too.
I wonder if the code could contributed to the PECL repository, but I know PECL does not like GPL very much... :-(
The problem with PECL & GNU is that PECL is a part of PHP project, which mostly uses PHP license (Apache license clone), so if some part of this project becomes GNU, others should be GNU too, which is unacceptable. So I guess no, unfortunately the extension cannot be added to PECL. -- Wbr, Antony Dovgal
