Hi All,
I would like to propose a new extension (PECL/sqlite3) as a replacement
for the current sqlite extension bundled with PHP.
The reason for the new extension is that the SQLite 3 API isn't
compatible with the SQLite 2 API. All data types and functions were
changed for SQLite 3.
Some of the new features of SQLite 3 include improved concurrency,
extensions, smaller file format, 64-bit row ids, incremental blob IO,
auto vacuum and several more SQL compatibility fixes.
I had been developing the extension against 3.4.3 but have since moved
to 3.5.1, since sqlite is in the public domain it can be bundled with
the extension which is under the PHP License.
Most of the API have been implemented apart from buffered queries, but
if no one has any objections I'd like to start committing it to CVS
prior to a full release.
