Hi,
Might be that your kerberos lib isn't configured to look for krb5.conf
in /etc but rather some other directory. To find out you could run
strings /usr/lib/libkrb5.so | grep krb5.conf
on the libkrb5.so lib pam_krb5.so is linked against, you can find out
which lib using:
ldd /lib/security/pam_krb5.so
