I am not a php wizard. I have been fiddling around with PHP and MySQL for a project I'm working on. I had the beginings of a project going and came across where I wanted to do some stack operations with an array (use array_push and array_pop), so I saw that those functions were 4.0 only, so I upgraded to php-4.0b2, and now no require or includes seem to work. It was working under my 3.0 install, but not the 4.0. System: RedHat 6.0, Apache 1.3.6 Old: mod_php installed with rpm New: php-4.0b2 compiled and installed I feel I brought it down to base level where the following will not work. If I comment out the require and the printHeader(), and uncomment the echos, I will get a test page, otherwise I get "The document contained no data". I've played with the include_path and restarted apache and no luck. index.php: <? require 'header.inc'; printHeader(); # echo " <html> <head> <title>"; # echo " Test title"; # echo " </title> </head>"; # echo " <body>"; ?> This is a test. </body> </html> header.inc: <? function printHeader() { ?> <html> <head> <title> Test title </title> </head> <body> <? } ?> This is more of a question of is this a bug that should be reported or am I configuring/doing something wrong here by stumbling on a big incompatibility from PHP3? chad
