OK.  I finally gave up on attempting to get a successful build of PHP
5.1.6, and I am now attempting PHP 4.4.4.  Unfortunately, where I
thought this would go pretty smoothly it has definitely not.

The configure and make complete fine.  The 'make install' however fails
at the beginning.

I have been searching the bug reports and found a couple of similar
errors, but nothing with enough information to follow thru to a
resolution.



Reproduce code:
---------------
Configure line:  ./configure --with-mysql
--with-oci8=/usr/local/oracle/8.0.6.3
--with-apxs2=/opt/apache/bin/apxs



Expected result:
----------------
Successful installation of PHP4 module.

Actual result:
