From: denis at edistar dot com Operating system: Linux PHP version: 5.2.0 PHP Bug Type: Scripting Engine problem Bug description: PHP raising notice when reading an overloaded property Description: ------------ Php 5.2 raises a notice when i try to read an overloaded property using foreach construct. The foreach works correctly, so I don't think the warning should be raised. Otherwise the foreach should not work (as don't work reset, next, current and other array functions). Thank you, Denis Reproduce code: --------------- class a { private $myArr; public function __construct() { $this->myArr = array('1','2','3','4'); } public function __get($p) { if($p == 'myArr') { return $this->myArr; } } } $myObj = new a(); foreach($myObj->myArr as $value) { echo "myValue: " . $value."\n"; } Expected result: ---------------- myValue: 1 myValue: 2 myValue: 3 myValue: 4 Actual result: -------------- Notice: Indirect modification of overloaded property a:: $myArr has no effect in /tmp/test.php on line 21 myValue: 1 myValue: 2 myValue: 3 myValue: 4 -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=39725&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 4.4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=trysnapshot44 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=trysnapshot52 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=39725&r=mysqlcfg
