Therefore we need a minor patch against libgd/gdft.c: http://www.gknw.net/test/php_issues/libgd_gdft.c.diff and in addition we need to define the proper path separator in libgd/gd.h: http://www.gknw.net/test/php_issues/libgd_gd.h.diff I've tested this patch with all PHP5 versions.
