From: david dot young at ghostknight dot us Operating system: WIN XP PRO PHP version: 5.2.1 PHP Bug Type: Variables related Bug description: Variables starting with numbers ($01) cause entire page to not display Description: ------------ When trying to parse text contained in any variable starting with a number ( ie $01 ) it fails to display ANY portion of the page. ( Server Data: Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) PHP/5.1.6 Server ) Reproduce code: --------------- <?php $01 = "online"; ?> <p>Status: <?php echo $01; ?></p> Expected result: ---------------- the actual code is a bit more elaborate, but when i had originally set it for $01, it should have parsed an image stating ONLINE ( url @ http://www.ghostknight.us/SBC2/status.php ) Actual result: -------------- I had to reform my variable to $bot01 in order to get it to parse. Thinking this was an isolated incident, I added the rest of the variables, and even with $bot01, the other variables $02, $03, $04, etc., prevented ANY data from being parsed on the site. Not even the HTML <title> data was produced. -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=40484&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 4.4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=trysnapshot44 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=trysnapshot52 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=40484&r=mysqlcfg
