Did you upgrade all dlls? And you don't have stale dlls laying around
elsewhere?

After upgrading from PHP 5.2.2 for Windows, the bundled MySQL libraries
do not work, either original libmysql.dll from 5.0 installation. Entry
point for character set procedure cannot be found.
