I have tested this using PHP 5.2.2 and 5.2.3 against Apache 2.2.4 and have run into the same issue. Using fsockopen and fread will result in the same error from fread. Which software has the remote server? windows+IIS? Does anyone know how to correct this issue? I have upgraded to the latest pear packages and also OpenSSL this does not matter what server you access it from go ahead and run the code with that url. the server will not aalow you to connect without an error.
