Reproduce code: --------------- abstract class Super { public function __construct () {} } class Sub extends Super { private static $object; private function __construct () {} public static function getInstance() { if (!(self::$object instanceof Sub)) { self::$object = new Sub(); } return self::$object; } } $a = Sub::getInstance(); Expected result: ---------------- That worked.
