While it may or may not close the sockets properly (I'm still
investigating), the odbc_connect ensures that a DoS won't happen. But
more than that, there is a maximum number of sockets allowed to be open
set by your php.ini.

after end of script odbc_close or odbc_close_all is not closing
connections. That may cause DoS as many open sockets can suck out
system resources.
