Thank you for taking the time to write to us, but this is not
a bug. Please double-check the documentation available at
http://www.php.net/manual/ and the instructions on how to
report
a bug at http://bugs.php.net/how-to-report.php
the zend.ze1_compatibility flag is not supposed to touch this at all.
It only reverts to the PHP4-type object model.

Description:
------------
Using "zend.ze1_compatibility_mode = On" does not remove the 'o'
function in date() (released with PHP 5.1).
This is for a large program not written by a company which is no more -
I don't particularly want to excape each instance of 'of' in their code.
Reproduce code:
---------------
echo date("l jS of F Y g:i:s A",$now);
Expected result:
----------------
Friday 23rd of November 2007 1:31:43 PM
Actual result:
--------------
Friday 23rd 2007f November 2007 1:31:43 PM
