Bug description:  mysqlnd driver doesn't connect to remote hosts

Description:

The mysqlnd driver doesn't connect to remote hosts. The same exact
username/password/host combination works with a PHP 4.3.9 standard
mysql_connect()

When PHP6 CVS (from today) is compiled with-mysql=mysqlnd, remote hosts
don't work.
