There are several other places in the build system that do not support spaces in paths. I'm trying to fix it now.. In line 102: if test ! -x "$php_shtool path $PHP_AUTOHEADER"; then and 114: if test ! -x "$php_shtool path $PHP_AUTOHEADER"; then something doesn't get escaped properly. (Yes, I know there are two different bug reports with same issue, but the code lines are different) Reproduce code: --------------- $ mkdir ~/directory\ foo $ cd ~/directory\ foo $ tar -xf ~/pecl.extension.tar $ cd name_of_ext-0.1 $ phpize Expected result: ---------------- phpize generates the necessary files to build extension Actual result: -------------- $ phpize Configuring for: PHP Api Version: 20041225 Zend Module Api No: 20060613 Zend Extension Api No: 220060519 /usr/bin/phpize: line 106: /home/Marco/directory: No such file or directory Cannot find autoconf.
