ID: 17958 Updated by: sesser@php.net Reported By: ddp@deakin.edu.au Status: Open Bug Type: Apache2 related Operating System: Linux 2.4.18 PHP Version: 4.2.1 New Comment: Is it possible for you to do something like tcpdump -w postlog -s 8192 -p tcp to let me see if the post block is somehow broken? If yes send the file directly to my address. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-14 22:15:36] ddp@deakin.edu.au Just in case this helps, I am also running apache2/php4.3.0-dev on linux. Maybe the person who could not reproduce this was not running on linux? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-11 14:32:15] thomas@gelf.it Using php 4.1.2 on apache 1.3.23 (Default Redhat 7.3 - installed today) I have the same problem: if using enctype="multipart/form-data" in a <form>-tag (with or without any <input type="file">), $HTTP_POST_VARS and $_POST will be empty arrays. The same script works perfectly with php 4.0.6 on apache 1.3.19. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-10 04:41:52] ddp@deakin.edu.au browser = mozilla 1.0 -- Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020601 (linux 2.4.18 if it matters) I also tried internet explorer version 6.0.2600.000 on win2k and had the same problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-10 04:25:23] sesser@php.net What Browser(incl. version) are you using? I was unable to reproduce this with Apache 2.0.39 and PHP 4.2.1 and IE 5.5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-07-10 01:15:34] ddp@deakin.edu.au Testing this with the form method changed to GET appears to work. Thus the issue is further narrowed down to php4 interacting with apache2.0.39 and _POST .. BTW we downloaded the cvs version of apache2 and php to see if the problem was resolved there but it is the same. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
