From: Operating system: CentOS release 5.4 x86_64 PHP version: 5.2.13 Package: Compile Failure Bug Type: Bug Bug description:Compile PHP with compiled openssl - relocation R_X86_64_32 Description: ------------ I have compiled openssl (./config -Bsymbolic) PHP compiled --with-openssl=/usr/local/ssl PHP 5.2.12 make OK PHP 5.2.13 make : ... -o libphp5.la /usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/ssl/lib64/libssl.a(s2_srvr.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC /usr/local/ssl/lib64/libssl.a: could not read symbols: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [libphp5.la] Error 1 I compare Makefile 5.2.12 and 5.2.13.
