Changing short_open_tag to off and taking all the short tags out of my
php scripts (no small task) fixed this problem! Thanks.
I am still using the 4.2.2 release version of isapi php, not any of the
beta stuff.
ASP and PHP now coexist happily on my Windows 2000 IIS5 system! Not
only that, I have Horde and Imp running with MSSQL server without a
hitch, and the isapi php makes it nice and fast.

Make sure you don't have short tags enabled.
Edit your php.ini file and change short_open_tag to Off.
You may have to edit all your php scripts to use <?PHP instead of <? or
<% or whatever you're using.
Try that and report on your situation.

Errmm Have you tried the latest CVS snap?

Running IIS5 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
When installed PHP as CGI using php.exe, HTML, PHP, and ASP pages all
work correctly.
When installed PHP as ISAPI filter, HTML and PHP work but ASP pages are
not served. Error in event log is "the application called an interface
that was marshalled to a different thread".
Research on this error points to an issue with ISAPI filter not written
correctly for multi-threaded environment. In particular, it was
suggested CoInitialize() and CoUninitialized() be included in the ISAPI
filter, however this is beyond my technical capability.
