Edit report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=53744&edit=1 ID: 53744 User updated by: erkki dot aalto at helsinki dot fi Reported by: erkki dot aalto at helsinki dot fi Summary: php_admin_value engine off causes random misbehaviour Status: Bogus Type: Bug Package: Scripting Engine problem Operating System: RHEL 5 x86_64 PHP Version: 5.3 Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: Turning the engine explicitly on where php is needed in php.conf helps. Anyway, there clearly is a bug and it should be fixed. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-01-19 12:17:43] erkki dot aalto at helsinki dot fi Tried upgrading to 5.3. The bug persists. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-01-14 08:11:44] rasmus@php.net By the way, RHEL 5.6 is out and includes PHP 5.3. That's probably your easiest way to address this. http://press.redhat.com/2011/01/13/red-hat-enterprise-linux-5-6-now-available/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-01-14 08:05:45] rasmus@php.net Chances are it has been fixed years ago. I remember a few fixes along those lines. You are running code that is 5 years old. If you can reproduce this in a modern version, re-open the bug report. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-01-14 07:58:43] erkki dot aalto at helsinki dot fi php-5.1.6-27.el5_5.3 In the best case RH would include the fix in the distribution. Anyway, I want the next webmaster to encounter this bug to find at least one clue in his/her search. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-01-14 07:52:47] rasmus@php.net 1. Please specify the version you are seeing this in 2. If you can't upgrade, how will you get the bug fix? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
