Test script:

int(2)
$ php -r 'var_dump(0x0 + 1);'
int(1)
$ php -r 'var_dump(0x0+10);'
int(26)
$ php -r 'var_dump(0x0 + 10);'
int(10)
$ php -r 'var_dump(0x0-10);'
int(-26)
$ php -r 'var_dump(0x0 - 10);'
int(-10)
