We can't prevent all user errors. It was deciced before that this will
not be fixed, as it's a huge performance impact and almost impossible
to do it correct.

function crashme($val)
{
if ($val == 0) return 0;
return crashme($val--); // here is the bug. Should be $val - 1
}
echo crashme(1);
result in a "Unkown software exception" under WinNT.
