ID: 19213 Updated by: kalowsky@php.net Reported By: a.steckenborn@stebosoft.de Status: Open Bug Type: Adabas-D related Operating System: SuSE Linux 8.0 PHP Version: 4.2.2 New Comment: Okay that default_db is a McGuffin, as that functionality isn't even enabled in PHP. It was to be, but all work has stopped on it at this time. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-09-04 08:12:31] a.steckenborn@stebosoft.de here there are my config flags: './configure' '--with-adabas=/usr/local/adabas' '--with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql' '--with-pdflib=/usr/local/pdflib/bind/c/' '--enable-dbase' '--with-db' '--with-jpeg-dir=/usr/lib/' '--with-apsx2' '--with-apsx' '--with-png-dir=/usr/lib/' '--with-zlib' '--with-apache=../apache_1.3.26' php.ini flags: In previus Version of PHP i don't have to set the odbc.default_db but with PHP4.2.2. the connection don't works without odbc.default_db /var/spool/sql/config/odbc.ini Now with PHP4.3-DEV it works without the setting again. At the moment it works a little bit better than before, but the bug is not fixed.(Memory don't grow so fast) I will copy from TOP the memory usage of the httpd childs at the moment after 6hours tomorrow at 8:00am (CET) without restarting apache and setting MaxRequestsPerChild 0 and post it here. So it's better to see how the memory grows up. with best rgds. Albert ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-09-04 02:47:53] a.steckenborn@stebosoft.de Hello, using now PHP4.3.0-DEV. Nothing has changed. Without ODBC_Free_Result($res) and ODBC_Close($conn) it looks the same as with freeing Results and Close Connection. I've seen in the bug reports that there was a bug like this with db2 that was fixed. Hope that it will help. with best rgds. Albert ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-09-03 18:23:10] kalowsky@php.net Keeping as feedback until we hear back from you on the snapshot. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-09-03 18:16:08] a.steckenborn@stebosoft.de I will try that tomorrow. Hope that it will fix the bug. At the Moment i will restart the Apache each night, but the traffic is growing up and it's only a question of time that i have to restart the Web-Server 2 Times per Day and then i will get a lot of troubles with my Customers. The last month my business was searching this bug and I hope that I will get it. I will post tomorrow if it works with the new Snapshot. Thanks and best rgds. Albert ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-09-03 18:04:47] kalowsky@php.net Everything looks good in your sample script. Any chance you can test out the latest snapshot for 4.2.3? There were a handful of memory fixes added to it, which might clean up your problem a bit. Although I don't think it will take all of it away. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
