From: jneil@myersinternet.com Operating system: Linux PHP version: 4.2.3 PHP Bug Type: Filesystem function related Bug description: Filesystem calls with relative paths don't work As of PHP 4.2.3 any filesystem functions that call for a pathname only work with fully qualified paths. Relative paths no longer appear to work. This includes the fopen commands. This breaks a lot of code out there. For example, the following function does not work: <?php if ($fp = fopen("some_local_file.txt", "r")) { echo "Opened file...<br>\n\n"; } ?> However, the following DOES work: <?php if ($fp = fopen("/full/path/to/some_local_file.txt", "r")) { echo "Opened file...<br>\n\n"; } ?> -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=19323&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=trysnapshot Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=needtrace Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=19323&r=globals
