From: sjaillet at gmail dot com Operating system: Ubuntu 12.04 PHP version: Irrelevant Package: SPL related Bug Type: Bug Bug description:iterator_to_array causing segfaults Description: ------------ During the past 12 months we experienced some weird segfaults issue. We worked on a project with a of tests and our CI proccess kept segfaulting randomly again and again. Adding an echo somewhere in the code make it suddenly pass for an unknown reason. This error occured on PHP 5.4 as well as PHP 5.5 and on many different platforms (essentially Ubuntu & Mac). Since we experienced some segfault issues by using the SPL library in the past we decided to remove the couple of iterator_to_array() references in our code base. And now 2 months later we didn't experienced any more segfaults during our CI proccess. Due to the random aspect of the issue I wasn't able to produce a deterministic test script but wanted to share this experience in case of it can help other people. -- Edit bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=68527&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.4): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=trysnapshot54 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.5): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=trysnapshot55 Try a snapshot (trunk): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=trysnapshottrunk Fixed in SVN: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=fixed Fixed in release: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=needscript Try newer version: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=oldversion Not developer issue: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=support Expected behavior: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=notwrong Not enough info: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=submittedtwice register_globals: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=php4 Daylight Savings: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=dst IIS Stability: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=gnused Floating point limitations: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=float No Zend Extensions: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68527&r=mysqlcfg
