From: theultramage at gmail dot com Operating system: PHP version: 5.6.15 Package: MySQL related Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Bug description:bind mysql client connection to specific ip Description: ------------ Libmysql documentation mentions that mysql_options(MYSQL_OPT_BIND, "hostname_or_ipaddress") exists since MySQL 5.6.1 (2011). This solves the problem of connecting from a host with multiple IPs, because otherwise the host's current default interface is used; this is decided by the operating system and it may change over time. MySQL server is especially sensitive to this since logins are tied to IP addresses.
