I recompiled the PHP7.0.1RC1 and it is working fine now. Don't know what went wrong, but now it's working fine. Apperantly I made an error in the configure arguments. One of the issues I encountered was the fact that when I use the iconv functions, it crashes the script with a Bus error (core dumped). iconv is running fine. Both through the command line as well as with PHP5.6.16.
