Operating system: Ubuntu 16.04
PHP version: 7.0.17
Package: MySQLi related
Bug Type: Bug
Bug description:mysqli_fetch_array(): Malformed server packet & Error while reading a row...
Description:
------------
Initially found a problem with phpMyAdmin not returning slave
information in a master/slave replication configuration. Issue raised
their concluded the problem likely resided in PHP somewhere
(https://github.com/phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin/issues/13117).
Was using stock php package from ubuntu ppa (ver
7.0.15-0ubuntu0.16.04.4) so I raised a launchpad bug
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php7.0/+bug/1675117) which
progressed to providing me with a ppa to test php 7.0.17. Testing still
has the same errors when using the test script.
Test script:
---------------
Script is included in my bug submission here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php7.0/+bug/1675117
Actual result:
--------------
Two errors return, excerpt below...
kelvin@xxx-server:~$ php php_test.php
PHP Warning: mysqli_fetch_array(): Malformed server packet. Field
length pointing 0 bytes after end of packet in /home/kelvin/php_test.php
on line 16
