Please double-check the documentation available at http://www.php.net/manual/ and the instructions on how to report a bug at http://bugs.php.net/how-to-report.php (int) casts explicitly cast to the integer data type. The expected behaviour in this case is that the result will be an integer, a floating point result would be extremely unexpected and cause serious problems for many use cases.
