Edit report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=77893&edit=1 ID: 77893 User updated by: srspam+phpnet at icloud dot com Reported by: srspam+phpnet at icloud dot com Summary: Documentation for -n option is incomplete Status: Open Type: Bug Package: *General Issues PHP Version: Irrelevant Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: Apologies for the incorrect category/type - I guess I assumed information in the manpage/php -h output (which is where I saw it first, not the online docs) came under 'documentation'. Thanks for looking at this! Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2019-04-17 10:44:02] cmb@php.net Apparently, you are referring to the output of php -h shown in the manual[1]. While this is not quite up to date, it certainly wouldn't make sense to modify it arbitrarily. Instead the output of php -h should be changed in the first place. [1] <https://www.php.net/manual/en/features.commandline.options.php> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2019-04-15 09:36:46] srspam+phpnet at icloud dot com Description: ------------ The -n option for the CLI and FPM SAPI's is documented as simply: No php.ini file will be used When used alone, this is correct, however I believe the true functionality would be better represented by a statement similar to the following: No default php.ini or additional configuration files (set by the --with-config-file-scan-dir configure option at build time or the PHP_INI_SCAN_DIR environment variable) will be loaded. Configuration files specified by the -c option *will* still be loaded. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=77893&edit=1
