Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2020-04-19 21:57:20] requinix@php.net Thank you for this bug report. To properly diagnose the problem, we need a short but complete example script to be able to reproduce this bug ourselves. A proper reproducing script starts with <?php and ends with ?>, is max. 10-20 lines long and does not require any external resources such as databases, etc. If the script requires a database to demonstrate the issue, please make sure it creates all necessary tables, stored procedures etc. Please avoid embedding huge scripts into the report. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2020-04-19 21:52:26] shoresofnowhere at gmail dot com Description: ------------ Connected to MySQL 8.0.19, having a utf8_general_ci encoded innodb table named users with a field named birthdate of type date, this query fails: SELECT period_diff(DATE_FORMAT(CURDATE(), '%Y%m'),DATE_FORMAT(birthdate , '%Y%m')) as result from users with error: (1210): Incorrect arguments to period_diff but this identical query, except for the limit clause, works properly: SELECT period_diff(DATE_FORMAT(CURDATE(), '%Y%m'),DATE_FORMAT(birthdate , '%Y%m')) as result from users limit 0,10 Expected result: ---------------- Both queries are syntactically correct and should run (they DO work properly if issued to the sql server with mysql workbench). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=79496&edit=1
