 New Comment:

Is this still an issue with any of the actively supported PHP
versions[1]?

Does it also crash with opcache.fast_shutdown=0 ?

And no errors when
opcache.interned_strings_buffer=0

you don't need to call any functions, just create new instance. This isolated code always
crashes with configuration

opcache.use_cwd=1
opcache.validate_timestamps=1
opcache.memory_consumption=128
opcache.log_verbosity_level=2
opcache.interned_strings_buffer=8
opcache.max_accelerated_files=4000
opcache.revalidate_freq=60
opcache.fast_shutdown=1
opcache.enable_cli=1

but only after first crash in non-sharable code

@viking:
> $this->{self::TEST_CONST}();
That will cause PHP to call testConst() repeatedly until the process eventually runs out of stack
space and crashes. This is expected behavior.

Do you have a test case that is related to @christian's problem with opcache and the
opcache.interned_strings_buffer setting?
