Edit report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=54900&edit=1 ID: 54900 Updated by: cmb@php.net Reported by: simast at gmail dot com Summary: Implement content compression for HTTP streams with "protocol_version" = 1.1 -Status: Open +Status: Wont fix Type: Feature/Change Request Package: Streams related Operating System: Linux/Ubuntu PHP Version: 5.3.6 -Assigned To: +Assigned To: cmb Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: Given that there was no feeback for more than ten years, I'm closing as WONTFIX. If you're still interested in the transparent (de)compression, please pursue the RFC process[1]. [1] <https://wiki.php.net/rfc/howto> Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-05-21 17:41:40] simast at gmail dot com Description: ------------ A feature request to implement HTTP stream content compression in the following scenario: If a HTTP context is created with "protocol_version" = 1.1, send 'Accept-Encoding' header and if the server responds with "Content-Encoding" header - handle/decompress content. While this functionality can be implemented in PHP- userland - it would be great to have it built-in. I guess this feature could be totally transparent and, for example, should be silently disabled if zlib is not available. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=54900&edit=1
