Is this still an issue with any of the actively supported PHP
versions[1]?

It works when I use "--disable-libgcc" with configure. But I'm not sure if this is
the right way to go.

Description:
------------
configure fails with an error that it can't locate libgcc:
---------
General settings
checking whether to include gcov symbols... no
checking whether to include debugging symbols... no
checking layout of installed files... PHP
checking path to configuration file... DEFAULT
checking where to scan for configuration files...
checking whether to enable PHP's own SIGCHLD handler... no
checking whether to explicitly link against libgcc... yes
configure: error: Cannot locate libgcc. Make sure that gcc is in your path
---------
The path for libgcc is determined in this line in configure:
---------
libgcc_libpath=gcc --print-libgcc-file-name|$SED 's%/*[^/][^/]*$%%'
---------
Unfortunately "gcc --print-libgcc-file-name" does only return the file name and not the
complete path:
---------
$ gcc --print-libgcc-file-name
libgcc.a
---------
Combined with the sed command it returns an empty string:
---------
$ gcc --print-libgcc-file-name|sed 's%/*[^/][^/]*$%%'
---------
I'm not sure if LLVM's behaviour is by design. So maybe it's a bug that has to be
fixed there or PHP's configure script has to be fixed.
---------
$ gcc --version
Configured with: --prefix=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr
--with-gxx-include-dir=/usr/include/c++/4.2.1
Apple LLVM version 6.0 (clang-600.0.56) (based on LLVM 3.5svn)
Target: x86_64-apple-darwin14.0.0
