My post is not about the infine recursion, but special usecases that give back execution time to
event loop from deep stack can easily produce 10 - 100 k stack frames depth. I am not arguing it is
good, but the php interpreter do all it can to never segfault with stack trace exhausted. So if
there is any issue with the stack trace limit, it should be fixed. And the example should fail with
OOM error.
