From: nih@phlux.co.uk Operating system: Linux PHP version: 4.2.3 PHP Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Bug description: $var_classname::function(); returns a parse error. You need to use eval(). Using $var_classname:function(); throws up a parse error. This was probably not a feature intended to be included rather than a bug. Currently I have a workaround using this: print eval("return ".$var_classname."::function();"); Would like to see it implemented in a future version if possible :) -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=20204&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=trysnapshot Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=needtrace Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=20204&r=isapi
