It could work with headers:
"Transfer-Encoding:", "Content-Length:
{$length}" In the worst case you can pass int instead of
CURLOPT_POSTFIELDSIZE, I think it is 60.
I have also habit of setting Expect: header to remove Expect/Continue
mechanics, alone it could be sufficient in this case.
