It can be due non atomic FS/flush/process exit. I think we need to replace the
sleep
with a loop with usleep(50_000); and testing the expectation until it is satisfied or
some timeout like 300 seconds is elapsed. It should be fast, only the OS scheduling extremes will
not break the tests.
