### Description

The following steps used to reproduce:

```
1. Clean server install of RHEL9
2. yum groupinstall "Development Tools"
3. yum install libxml2-devel sqlite-devel
4. ./buildconf
5. ./configure
6. make -j4    <-- failure here
```

Resulted in this output:
```
cc: fatal error: Killed signal terminated program cc1
compilation terminated.
make: *** [Makefile:849: ext/fileinfo/libmagic/apprentice.lo] Error 1

```

But I expected this output instead:
```
Complete Success ...
```
