ID: 20698 Updated by: wez@php.net Reported By: thingol@mail.ru Status: Verified Bug Type: PCRE related Operating System: * PHP Version: 4.3.0-dev New Comment: Not really a PHP bug; bug is in the PCRE library itself and is because you are asking it to capture a very large number of individual character matches. Increasing your stack size might help (ulimit). Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-28 06:55:54] sniper@php.net It crashes also here (on Linux) so it's not specific to windows. Backtrace is way too long to put here.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-28 06:34:47] thingol@mail.ru Nothing new. Bug is repeated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-28 06:29:17] sniper@php.net Please try using this CVS snapshot: http://snaps.php.net/php4-latest.tar.gz For Windows: http://snaps.php.net/win32/php4-win32-latest.zip ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-11-28 06:26:10] thingol@mail.ru If the text for preg_match_all is bigger than some value, many regexp constructions causes php to terminate. This code crashes php (on win32 only): <? $thi = str_repeat("aaaaaaa a aa aa aa\n", 1000); preg_match_all("/(.|\n)*/",$thi,$vars); ?> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=20698&edit=1
