Status: No Feedback
Bug Type: iPlanet related
Operating System: Windows 2000
PHP Version: 4.1.2
New Comment:
We've also noticed the same/similar bug using PHP 4.1.2 with iPlanet
4.1 on Solaris 7. Using the exact same code, one page works and can
connect to the database just fine, but with another page, it kept dying
at the OCILogon function. Normally, bouncing the iPlanet web server
would fix the problem, but then one day, that solution stopped
working.
OCILogon (or OCIPLogin) would just die and not respect an "or die"
message.
The solution seemed to be to change the Host = line to use the IP
address of the database server instead of the hostname.

If I run PHP from the command line, it works fine. But if I try to
execute any PHP script, no matter how simple, the iPlanet portal shuts
down. Win2K logs the following error...
The description for Event ID ( 25 ) in Source ( WebServer 4.1 ) cannot
be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. The following information is part of the event:
https-enlace_2, 0.
I'm new to PHP, I've tried setting every logging parameter in the
php.ini file and havn't gotten anything....
Please, give me a clue, throw me a bone,

Yes. But I had trouble figuring out how to get a back trace based on
the link that was sent...
