From: j dot katarski at ecu dot edu dot au Operating system: Windows XP SP1 PHP version: 4.3.2RC1 PHP Bug Type: MySQL related Bug description: Incorrect MySQL client version compiled in PHP Using a MySQL 4.1 database, it's as simple as: <? $conn = mysql_connect(); ?> This is will immediately fail with: 1249 - Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server. Consider upgrading MySQL client This is a problem with a lot of applications, I believe due to changes with mysqllib.dll.
