New Comment:
i am runnig cygwin on win2k and using apache2. i am having the problem
of .so not being created. cut and paste each command from php.net or
the installation files that come with php. is there a specific problem
with cygwin and the rest of the set up relative to creating .so files?
does any one have this set up, and have it working? if yes can you
tell me exactly what you did to get your apache2 up and running with
php.

UX: ld: ERROR: relocations remain against non-writeable, allocatable
section .rodata
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

I have testing these using the latest snapshot.
Sorry my mistake, in this version during compile for Apache 1.3.27 I
have any errors message expect warning message:
Warning: inter-library dependencies are not known to be supported. All
declared inter-library dependencies are being dropped. Warning: libtool
could not satisfy all declared inter-library dependencies of module
libphp4. Therefore, libtool will create a static module, that should
work as long as the dlopening application is linked
with the -dlopen flag.
