From: adam at indexdata dot dk Operating system: Linux 2.4.19 PHP version: 4.3.2RC1 PHP Bug Type: XML related Bug description: XML parser does not use encoding from XML header. xml_parse / xml_parser_create does not use (input) encoding from XML header even though EXPAT supports that feature. If xml_parser_create is called with with no arguments, XML file is assumed to be of type ISO-8859-1 (default_encoding). It would be desirable if there was a way to make PHP call EXPAT's XML_ParserCreate(encoding) with encoding == NULL to force EXPAT to perform the proper character set conversion to output character set (TARGET_ENCODING). Inspecting source from latest PHP, suggests that this applies to many PHP versions. -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=23292&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=trysnapshot Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=needtrace Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=23292&r=gnused
