#23176 [Com]: the use of `tmpnam' is dangerous, better use `mkstemp'
ID: 23176

Status: Bogus
Bug Type: Compile Failure
Operating System: Linux Red Hat 7.2
PHP Version: 4.3.1
New Comment:
I don't see why this bus is marked bogus. This problem is preventing
me from compiling PHP with IMP support on Red Hat 7.2, all the latest
updates. This is very far from bogus, even if it's not officially a
"PHP bug". I'd very much appreciate hearing how to get PHP to compile
with IMAP support when this fatal compiler "warning" results. The key
flag for me is --with-imap. Without that flag, I do not get the
compiler warning. I'm compiling 4.3.0 or 4.3.1, same as originally
reported by Olivier.

Hello,
when I try to compile php 4.3.0 and 4.3.1 I get this message error :
ldl -lnsl -lcrypt -lgssapi_krb5 -lkrb5 -lk5crypto -lcom_err -o
sapi/cli/php
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/../../../libc-client.a(osdep.o):
In function `ssl_onceonlyinit':
/usr/src/build/41512-i386/BUILD/imap-2000c/c-client/auth_ssl.c:153: the
use of tmpnam' is dangerous, better use mkstemp'
my configuration line is the following :
'./configure' '--with-apache=../apache_1.3.27' '--with-dbase'
'--with-filepro' '--with-xml' '--enable-ftp' '--with-db'
'--enable-bcmath' '--enable-calendar' '--with-jpeg-dir'
'--with-png-dir' '--with-gd' '--enable-gd-native-ttf'
'--with-freetype-dir' '--with-gettext' '--with-pgsql=/usr'
'--with-mysql=/usr' '--with-zlib-dir' '--enable-trans-sid'
'--with-imap' '--with-kerberos' '--with-imap-ssl'
'--with-openssl'
'--enable-sysvsem' '--enable-sysvshm'
I saw this error has already been reported but the warning stops the
compilation, even if I use "make -i" or "make -k".
I tried to do "make install" to see if that works, but that doesn't :(
Nothing is installed.
Notice : I don't have this bug with php 4.2.3
so if you can tell me how to install php4.3.1 ...
thanks
Olivier
