From: uhlar at fantomas dot sk Operating system: any PHP version: 4.3.3 PHP Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Bug description: mysql_{p}connect could use default parameters if supplied arguments are NULL Description: ------------ mysql_connect() and mysql_pconnect(), when called without arguments, use default values mysql.detault_* variables to detect what host/username/password to use. But they do so only if they are calles withou any argument. Could be this enhanced to use default variables whenever NULL is used as value? e.g. mysql_connect("new.host.name", NULL, NULL, MYSQL_CLIENT_COMPRESS) would take mysql.default_user and mysql.default_password as username and password. -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=25253&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (php4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=trysnapshot4 Try a CVS snapshot (php5): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=trysnapshot5 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=needtrace Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=25253&r=gnused
