I know that upgrading to newer version of php i.e. 4.3.1 mentioned above may help, but we have some very specific and hard to compile in modules so i would be much more grateful to know what is the cause of this bug, rather than being pointed to the last CVS snapshot. I have the same Apache version, solaris 8, etc.. I have errors reported, and apache/php is not crashing as far as i can see.. apache reports 5 byte response.
