ID: 16263 Updated by: sniper@php.net Reported By: kur@natur.cuni.cz Status: Feedback Bug Type: Session related Operating System: Windows 2000 PHP Version: 4.1.2 New Comment: once again, whenever you update/downgrade PHP remember to replace ALL the dlls and other binaries in your systems with the ones found in the release packages. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-15 15:21:23] pryde@oldworld.de Problem still exists in PHP 4.2.0 rc4. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-15 14:44:20] snowkrash@altavista.nl I use Apache 1.3.23 and PHP 4.1.0 as an ISAPI module on Windows2000 SP2 with NTFS. I tried 4.1.2 when it came out and today - 15/4/2002 - 4.2.0 RC4. I keep have to downgrade back to 4.1.0 because my complete session-based website ceased to work when using ANY PHP version greater than 4.1.0 (however never tried 4.1.1). It heavily relies on URL transmitted sessions .... so without cookies. I set register_globals to OFF en use $_SESSION etc throughout the app. I'm really curious when sessions will work again, since I'd like to benefit from the solved security issues of 4.1.x in >= 4.1.2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-15 14:42:28] ggrimnes@csd.abdn.ac.uk I had this problem on Win2k, IIS5 with versions 4.1.1 and 4.1.2, but I upgraded today to 4.2rc4 and it worked perfectly! Thanks Derick! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-11 11:53:15] pryde@oldworld.de I'm experiencing the same Problem on 4.1.1, but less than on 4.1.2 I downgraded to 4.1.1 afer the session-system wasnt working at all anmore, now it still happens, but only once in about 15 times. OS: Win2000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2002-04-10 05:46:38] timebreaker@newmail.ru In PHP 4.2.0RC2, situation is the same... Sessions fail. Looks like it's not file access problem, because it writes explicitly (by session_register) registered variable names, but not their values. Please investigate... My system: Win98/Apache-2.0.35/PHP as CGI/... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
